Halloween Dance

Last Saturday night was our ward Halloween Dance. We had a cake walk and we played until every kid had won a cupcake.

That was the beginning of the end.

We're on the activities committee so we were busy and Hannah wasn't watched very carefully. Devan and I compared notes later and we think she ate at least 5 cupcakes. Here they're having a race to eat doughnuts off a string. I tried to get Hannah to try, but why would she when she had cupcakes she didn't have to work for?

We hadn't had time to eat dinner between the trunk or treat and the dance, so Hannah was pretty hopped up on candy and desserts. At one point I realized I hadn't seen her in a while, so I went in the hall to look for her. When I found her, I asked her why she was in the hall and she yelled, “I needed a drink!” Then she saw a picture behind me and yelled. “It’s Jesus!!! He’s getting baptized!!!” She was crazy hyper.

And she kept trying to steal the baby of the other family on the activities committee.

We had a costume contest.

We told her to go up to everyone and tell them she's number 5. Then Devan made sure to say the number 5 often and loudly. It worked and she won. She got a king sized candy bar, which we ate after she went to bed because she obviously can't handle her sugar.

Trick or Treating: Take 1

Last Saturday we went to the trunk or treat my stay-at-home moms' group put on. This year Devan was able to come and we all had a lot of fun. First we had a potluck lunch.

And then we got ready for trunk or treating. It drove Hannah nuts that she couldn't have the candy we were passing out.

This little girl fell in love with Hannah during the group photo.

Hannah had a great time learning to trick or treat. She got super hyper from all the candy, so I've helped her out by eating most of it this week.

A Trip to the Pumpkin Patch

On Monday (a week and a half ago) we went and got our pumpkins.

Hannah picked out her own pumpkin.

My dad pointed out today, "Putting him on the ground doesn't ever seem to make him happy." We haven't learned our lesson yet. But look how cute! Which of these things is not like the others?

We love leaves!

Last Saturday we went on a little hike to see fall leaves. We were a little early for the leaves, but we had fun anyway.

This is how Hannah carries her dad when he gets too tired.
