The Last Month

I have a bunch of pictures building up of our strange little life. I figured I'd put them all together in one strange little post.

January 16

We pulled out Hannah's walker for baby Xay to play in. Hannah decided she needed to start using it again.

We had it out for one night and then put it back in her closet. The funny thing is, she can get in the walker, but not out. So, for the last few weeks every once in a while we'll hear distant crying and find her stuck in the walker in her closet.

January 31

She was really mad when we got tired of this game.

February 15

This is a shirt, not a dress. I was going through her clothes finding what fit and what didn't. This is the outfit we ended up with.

February 18

We had Chinese takeout for dinner and forgot to throw away the sweet and sour sauce before we left the table.

This turned into such a mess. I tried to clean her up, but we ended up so sticky we both needed a bath immediately.

February 25

I did a little bit of decorating in Hannah's room for the first time in her life.

I couldn't believe how excited she was about it. I told her it was her name and she ran over and hugged me. Such a sweet, deprived little girl.

February 27

Being a cheerleader.

Just being cute.

We got this book of lullabies from the library yesterday and it really freaked her out. Every time I'd sing her one she'd start to cry. I have a video of her doing it. It's really, really funny, but I haven't decided whether or not to put it up. It makes us look a little bit abusive. Here's Ashley just reading her one of the songs and she's getting all concerned.

Yep, folks, that's us.

"Too Too Too Much Fun" Day 3

The weekend went by far too quickly and we hadn't seen half the things I wanted to or spend nearly enough time with Mom and Renee. We were going to do a little more sightseeing, but we decided we were pretty Vegased out. Plus, it takes so long to get anywhere on the strip! So we said goodbye and headed over to the Hoover Dam. There were so many cars waiting to go over the dam that it took us an hour to drive 4 miles. I didn't mind that, but when we got there they charged $7 to park! I would have turned around, but Devan said it would be worth it so we stayed. It was so worth it!

There was some snow on the drive home, so we didn't make it back until after midnight. We had an awesome weekend, but one of the best parts about going on vacation is finding how happy you are to get back home!

"Too Too Too Much Fun" Day 2

We started our Saturday at breakfast with Mom, Renee, Della and Wendy.

Of course, the day couldn't start without Renee spoiling Hannah a little. Oh how we love our Auntie Nay Nay!

Then we went out to see some of the great free attractions Vegas has to offer. We started at the Flamingo hotel.

It got a little chilly and we weren't as prepared as we should have been. Hannah liked it though. She cried when we untied her arms.

Then we walked around the shops at Caesar's for a while and found their aquariums.

This is how Hannah took most of her naps this weekend.

Hannah was such a good girl this weekend. She was so cheerful and obedient and friendly. I'm so proud of her.

That evening we went to a steakhouse that someone had heard great things about. I knew it was going to be expensive so I was hesitant to go, but Renee and Wendy were so sweet to offer to treat us. I don't think anyone realized how expensive it would be until we got there and sat down. It was delicious. They had the most amazing vegetable side dishes. If I could cook like that I'd have no problem giving up meat. Devan and I got the surf and turf and some chicken and the three of us shared. It was super yummy, but looking back I wish I'd ordered more vegetables and skipped the meat because they were so good!

Dinner for 6 and a baby, equivalent to two months grocery money. Definitely a once in a lifetime experience.

Hannah was so well-behaved during dinner. I was worried because it was NOT a kid's restaurant, but she acted beautifully. She did get a little sleepy by the end so she made herself a little bed.

Grandma's birthday dessert.

After dinner the women went out for another wild girls' night out and we walked along the strip. We saw the outdoor volcano at the Mirage and then we spent about an hour in front of the Bellagio.

"Too Too Too Much Fun" Day 1

Friday night we got to Las Vegas, got settled in our hotel (Hannah ran into the glass shower door. So hillarious!), ate some Jack in the Box (we miss it so here in Utah) and drove to Mom's hotel to surprise her. She was very happy and started crying and it was lovely. We all hung out and talked for a little while and then the women went to a dueling piano bar and we went to the Fremont street Experience.

The Fremont Street Experience is a few blocks of old Las Vegas that has been blocked off to cars. There were booths and a live band and lots of flashing casino lights. Above the street is a huge canopy that stretched 1,500 feet in legnth. Once an hour all the outside lights are shut off and there is a light and music show on the screen. It was super fun.

Before the show...

During.

This had to be my favorite thing I saw in Las Vegas.

Too Too Too Much Fun

Last weekend my mom turned 50. Her friend Wendy threw her a joint birthday party with her 9 year old daughter. Mom went all week thinking that was all the hoopla she she was going to get. Friday afternoon Wendy and her sister Renee showed up at her work and took her to Las Vegas! Mom's friend Della was at the hotel when they got there and Devan, Hannah, and I showed up that night to further surprise her.

On the way, we made a stop in St. George to play on rocks.

Hannah's hair was funny. I took one of her pigtails out to fix it and the rubber band broke. So one side of her hair is sticking straight out.

If you look closely at this picture, you can see a smudge of dirt on her nose. She'd gotten running too fast and fell on her face.

When we left Salt Lake it was snowing. It was so nice to be able to play outside with no coats on just a few hours later.

Bleh!

I gained 4 pounds over the weekend. Details to follow...

Baby pictures

We got to see our baby yesterday! They couldn't tell what it was...or maybe they could and we just aren't telling you. Either way, here are the pictures.
Hunched over forward.

Baby was meauring a little big so they bumped my due date to 7/22. I don't believe them though. For the record, I will be having this baby sometime the first week of August. If it comes earlier, great, but don't start asking me on July 15th where the baby is.

This one is kind of a creepy picture, but I like how you can see into its head and see the seperation between the two brain hemispheres.

I'm getting so excited. I was looking through old baby clothes the other day and I can't believe Hannah was ever that little. I can't wait to have another little baby around!

About a month ago Hannah and I met a nice lady on the train who gave Hannah a picture (of frogs) to color. To this day, every time Hannah sees that picture she says, "Choo Choo" (train noise). It made quite an impression on her.

Mostly for the Grandparents

Probably boring if it's not your kid. Proceed at your own risk.

And part two... we're still learning how to do all this.
