Donut Falls

Our final adventure while my dad was here was a trip to donut falls. We finally got Hannah a backpack, and it made the trip so much easier.

It's a really nice little hike. The falls are just a little ways from the parking lot (a mile tops) and then you climb up this if you want to get really close to the water:

Hugging her daddy...

She was so excited about the waterfall.

And back down...

Lunch!

This is what happens when you change a little girl's diaper in the woods...

Hannah and Grandpa had a fun hike!

Jayden's Birthday Party

Before...

After...

Cutest thing I've ever seen!

Before our Salt Flats adventure(see below), we went to Hannah's cousin Jayden's first birthday party. I can't believe the little man is 1 already!

This was Hannah's first time seeing her cousins all summer. In this picture, Jayden is trying to explain to her that she needs to get out of his little cart.

Danielle always plans out the cutest crafts for her kids' birthday parties.

This is the one that "Hannah" made...

It was so nice to see all of Devan's family again. We're excited to be back in Utah and for Hannah to have lots of chances to play with her cousins again!

Salt Flats

Yesterday afternoon we took an hour and a half drive out to the Salt Flats on the border of Utah and Nevada. We stopped at a rest stop a little before Wendover and were able to go out and play in the salt.

It's so vast and so beautiful out there that we all immediatly had the urge to walk as far as we could out into the desert.

We walked for about 45 minutes and then turned back once the sun set behind the mountains. The little speck you see in the next picture is the rest stop where we started.

I hope that we can go back some day when we have more daylight and get really far out into the middle of nowhere. It was so much fun!

Last night in Washington

On Sunday, August 23rd, we got our apartment all packed up and our cars all loaded and then headed over to my mom's house for one last dinner with the family. Renee, Mickey, and my dad were all there.

After dinner Devan decided to see if he'd been lying to customers all summer about how difficult it would be for a burglar to get onto a second story balcony.

Turns out it would be easier for someone to break in than he thought...especially with that ladder leaning against the house.

Mom was a little embarrassed about that one.

After everyone left we played a little two-on-two, three base softball with my mom and Kory. Since there were only two people in the outfield each time, the way we got people out was by throwing the base ball at them. Kory pegged me really hard once in the back. Cute kid.

And then we were sweaty...

It was a great last night. We (meaning Hannah and I...maybe not so much Devan) had an amazing summer in Washington. We're going to miss my family so much!
